DEVELOPMENT PLAN REPRESENTATIONS

With an increasing emphasis upon a local development framework led environment, it is vitally important that owners of land ensure that their proposed development schemes are put forward at the right time. We are able to coordinate high quality submissions to persuade the local planning authority that the particular development proposal has a good strategic fit with their existing and emerging policies and that development should be allocated to our clients’ sites. This may require submissions at the various stages of; Call for Sites, Issues and Options, Draft Plan and Submission Plan. This may also involve providing evidence on behalf of our clients to public examination of the submitted Development Plan.

Aston Lozells Newtown Area Action Plan

In 2012 following our work on a Viability Assessment of Birmingham City Council’s Aston Newtown Lozells Area Action we presented evidence to the Inspector’s Examination of the Plan, particularly in relation to market demand for the proposed Aston East Regional Investment Site. Our case was accepted and the Plan has been adopted. The site is now known as Birmingham Advanced Manufacturing Hub and development is underway.

Perton Court Farm, South Staffordshire

In 2014 we submitted representations to South Staffordshire Council’s Site Allocations Document consultation exercise in respect of a 29 ha site on the edge of the village of Perton capable of accommodating some 175 dwellings. This involved working up a preliminary Masterplan and presenting the scheme at a community consultation event run by the Parish Council.

M1 Junction 18, Northamptonshire

In March 2016 we submitted, on behalf of London Metric Property plc, representations to Daventry District Council’s Part 2 Local Plan consultation exercise in respect of employment development on an 11 ha site adjoining the Crick Industrial Estate, close to Junction 18 of the M1,. Our representations also included a ‘Call for Sites’ submission for a development allocation for this strategic site. In 2017 we submitted representations to the Crick Neighbourhood Development Plan.
