Masterplan ExhibitionJAGUAR LAND ROVER ADVANCED ENGINE FACILITY

 

In October 2011 ANCER SPA submitted a planning application on behalf of Jaguar Land Rover for a new 70,000m2 advanced engine facility on the i54 site at South Staffordshire. ANCER SPA was assisted by the scheme architects Arup Associates in putting the submissions together.

COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE LEVY

 

The introduction of the Community Infrastructure Levy Regulations in April 2011 provides the opportunity for us to assist clients by deploying our commercial surveying expertise to assess development viability and to present the case to the Charging Authority for ‘exceptional circumstances relief'.

 

 

Masterplan ExhibitionI54 WOBASTON ROAD, WOLVERHAMPTON

 

ANCER SPA obtained outline planning permission in March 2007 for this 90 ha strategic employment site near Wolverhampton for Advantage West Midlands and its joint venture partner Wolverhampton City Council. This site, at the gateway to the Wolverhampton Telford Technology Corridor, has been allocated in regional plans to accommodate both a Major Investment Site and a Regional Investment Site creating a technology-based business park and over 6,000 jobs.Site preparation works have been largely completed and the next stage of development of this project is the detailed design of a new site access connection to Junction 2 of the M54. ANCER SPA obtained a new outline planning permission in March 2010 which amended the phasing of the scheme in response to the prevailing economic climate. In November 2010, ANCER SPA, on behalf of Stoford Developments Ltd, obtained detailed planning permission for a 20,000m2 industrial unit for MOOG Wolverhampton Ltd, a strategically important aerospace company. This was followed in January 2011 by us obtaining detailed planning permission for a new facility for Eurofins Laboratories Ltd. Both of these schemes involve high technology companies in high quality sustainable buildings that set the standard for further schemes on the i54 site

 

 

 

 

CHATTERLEY VALLEY STRATEGIC EMPLOYMENT SITE

 

ANCER SPA obtained outline planning permission in February 2007 for one of the Region’s flagship partnership regeneration projects led by Advantage West Midlands. This comprises the comprehensive development of some 100ha of former ironworks and colliery land at Chatterley Valley in North Staffordshire to provide a major employment site creating up to 4,000 jobs.

 

masterplanThe development of Phase 1 is underway and Ancer Spa obtained planning permission for Gazeley UK Ltd for their innovative ‘Blue Planet’ warehousing scheme The development on the Lowlands Road site has now been completed, has ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM status and won a number of awards as an exemplar of sustainable design and construction.

 

 Northern Trust’s striking 33,000sqft Genesis Enterprise Centre on Goldendale West was opened by Ian Austin the Minister for the West Midlands in September 2009 Genesis offers a total of 94 individual office suites in a building with BREEAM ‘Excellent’ status.

 

 

 

TYSELEY ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISE PARK

 

ANCER SPA completed in October 2009 for Advantage West Midlands and Birmingham City Council a feasibility study of the potential for the Tyseley area of East Birmingham to become a Resource Recovery/Environmental Enterprise Park. The City Council subsequently launched the Tyseley Environmental Enterprise District initiative in May 2011. We are now assisting British Waterways in bringing forward a scheme for the development of their 5 hectare site at Tyseley Wharf. We have undertaken market demand research, and coordinated multi-disciplinary technical consultants in the preparation of a masterplan and planning application assessment supporting reports.

 

 

 

 

BIRMINGHAM CORRIDOR REGENERATION FRAMEWORKS

 

ANCER SPA has recently completed tor Birmingham City Council the formulation of regeneration frameworks for the A34 Stratford Road and Washwood Heath corridor areas of Birmingham. These comprised holistic approaches to the regeneration of areas of physical decay and social deprivation that have a high proportion of BME residents. The City Council is now taking forward development projects at the junction of Stratford Road and Highgate Road as part of an ERDF funding package programme.

 

 

 

 

OLYMPUS ENGINEERING, STOKE ON TRENT

 

ANCER SPA submitted an application on behalf of Olympus Engineering for gap funding from Advantage West Midlands towards the cost of construction of a new factory to enable their relocation from Hanley to Cliffe Vale in Stoke on Trent. The gap funding application was successful and the factory was opened by Lord Digby Jones in January 2011.

 

 

 

 

GRANTHAM, LINCOLNSHIRE

 

Working for the joint landowners ANCER SPA has secured from South Kesteven District Council a resolution to grant outline planning permission for a sustainable urban extension for 1,800 new homes, a primary school and local centre in Grantham. The application which entailed an Environmental Impact Assessment was considered by planning committee in Sept 2009. In July 2010 we secured formal confirmation of the allocation of some 600 acres of our clients land to accommodate 5,500 new homes in the town. The project is a key component of Grantham’s Growth Point objectives.


ANCER SPA is also advising Buckminster Trust Estates on the allocation for development of a second Sustainable Urban Extension for Grantham of 3,500 new homes that will include a new relief road to the south of the town. The project has been identified as a ‘preferred option’ by SKDC in their CSS.

 

 

NEW ENTERPRISE / INCUBATION CENTRES

 

ANCER SPA assisted Sandwell MBC in 2009 to procure the developer PURE  to develop an enterprise centre at McKean Road in Oldbury comprising 3,000m2 of floorspace and accommodation for 65 businesses. We were also commissioned by Dudley MBC in September 2009 to undertake a feasibility study to develop an enterprise centre on a site at Castle Gate in Dudley.
